Bio
Amna Kurtic was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina where life later took her to immigrate to Canada. Her early days were filled with the promise of musical potential in the early 2010s as a self-taught multi-instrumentalist at 13, she also had a passion for visual arts, eventually pursuing a BFA in Interdisciplinary arts. She focused her childhood on drawing various illustrations from her imagination, and later on grew more seriously into her craft by starting to experiment with oil and acrylics. This love of art soon led her to explore different mediums and techniques to bring her unique visions to life. With her work, she hopes to inspire others to explore and embrace their own creative pursuits.
Artist statement
With this artwork, I aspire to demonstrate the sheer beauty and connection that can be experienced by simply paying attention to nature and discovering our own roots. Located in a private and intimate atmosphere, the installation encourages visitors to connect deeply with their environment and as they look into their own reflection. By showcasing the incredible beauty of nature and the ways in which we can connect with it, I hope to inspire more people to appreciate the planet's magnificence.
